Are you thinking about pursuing an allied health care career that helps people recover from injury or adapt to trauma or disability? At the College of Health Care Professions, our certificate training program can help you develop the skills you need to pursue a career as a physical therapy technician.

Whether this is the first step toward certification as a physical therapist or a career goal in itself, physical therapy techs (or physical therapist aids) are critical partners in any patient’s treatment program. In this certificate program, you will be instructed in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pathology, and modality applications. From stretching to helping patients with exercise equipment, you will have the opportunity to practice the skills needed to work one-on-one with patients to make a positive impact on their lives.

Physical Therapy Technician is positioned for employment growth because of an increase in demand among older populates for care in the areas of movement and physical healthcare for chronic conditions such as obesity and diabetes.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics*, job openings for physical therapy assistants and aids are projected to grow 19% through 2032 – a much faster than average pace. Overall, employment in healthcare occupations is projected to grow 12.6% from 2021 to 2031*, much faster than the average for all occupations.
